What's Going On Is...

I have a few questions that I'm overdue to answer.

1) I am not paper piecing the quilt. For some reason, paper piecing just doesn't really appeal to me.

2) I am not backing the top with anything at this point. I plan to make it as a whole top, then I will use batting and a backing fabric, and will probably hand quilt the whole thing. Of course, I'll need a quilting frame or hoop or something in order to do that, but we'll burn that bridge when we get there. As in, in a few months when I finish the top. Which will also be delayed by finishing the baby projects I'm currently working on, as well as the Big Gay Wedding Afghan and, of course, Zauberflote.

3) Zauberflote is not done. It's on hold, because I don't really feel like having that much wool in my lap during the summertime.

4) I'm working on too many things at once!

The saving grace? I finally feel like blogging again! So I hope you're enjoying reading it...

(Ed. note, added Sunday afternoon) And oh yeah, I think I fixed the problem with the comments. For some reason, MT Blacklist decided to ban the letter "G." So that's fixed, thank you very much. And that said, it's amazing how much spam can be generated without the letter "G" in it. Amazing.

Nice to see a picture of the quilt in process. I like your fabric choices so far. Very ambitious, and it will be fabulous when its finished.

Oh, and should you want to buy a really nice handquilting frame, I have one that I'd sell you cheap! I seem to do better with a hoop for what little handquilting I'm doing these days.

Thanks for clarifying the error, I was feeling unloved (I tried 3 times, I think) Try http://scottishspinner.blogspot.com/ for your spinning/fleece needs. She should certainly be able to help. Personally, I have always been fond of the letter G.

Jon, the quilt is going to be lovely! If you're dealing with a small space, you might want to consider the Q-Snap quilting frame (I think that's the correct name of it, mine's in the back of the sewing room closet). It's made mostly of PVC pipes and connectors, with some gripper sleeves to hold the quilt. When set up, it's about the size of a card table, and when broken down it'll fit in an umbrella stand. Back in the Dark Ages when I used to quilt, I loved mine for its ability to appear and disappear as needed. No, I'm not connected with the manufacturer, just liked the product.
