Ok, in case anyone actually still comes across this blog, I need info. I am going to Scotland in August, and what I really want to buy more than anything while I'm there is the fleece of a fabulous Scottish sheep (white, please!) which I would then have spun into yarn to make my own Aran sweater out of special Scottish wool. Does anyone have a suggestion of where the best place in Scotland is to do this? I will travel in Scotland, I want to see sheep!!!
I also plan to see Castles and Lochs and other good things, so any other great Scotland advice will be much appreciated. I do not, however, plan to eat haggis. Though it could happen...
Thanks in advance!

One thing I recommend to do in Scotland is to walk part of the Great Glen Way, or, barring that, travel around in the Highlands, following the path of the Great Glen (a huge rift valley of interconnected lochs between Inverness and Fort William) If you go to Drumnadochit (sp) you can visit Urqhart castle, and Loch Ness, but it's much much nicer to see the Highlands as a walker. Fantastic deep dark forests, and beautiful farm country, and terrific views of the lochs from on high.
I also recommend tasting whiskies, wherever you stay, and visiting the National Museum, in Edinburgh, which has wonderful installations by Andy Goldsworthy. There's a great pub, called the Bow, in Edinburgh that I really liked, too. Enjoy Scotland!
