So someone pointed out that there's a new patchwork shop in the City.
Did you know that patchwork is a lot cheaper than knitting? Faster, too. So far tonight, I got two five inch squares done - from cutting to sewing. I'm rather pleased.

I bought a lot of fabric; I'm going to make a queen sized quilt. The pattern is going to be based on a tie I have which is actually in a fairly traditional patchwork pattern, just a crazy color-way, and I'm really excited about it. I would show you a photo of the 27 fabrics I bought, but they're at the laundry, being washed and pressed for me. Because, well, they have to be washed and pressed before you sew them.
I wonder if I'll have to change the name of my blog, if I'm not exclusively knitting anymore. I still am knitting, though. In fact, my tiger sock yarn (inspired by Wendy just came in the mail. So there should be lots of exciting stuff coming out of here soon. So you better stay tuned!
Posted by Jon at May 11, 2006 10:04 PMIn case you haven't already figured it out, Quilt Pox is every bit as virulent and incurable as yarn addiction. It's bad enough when a closetful of yarn is begging for attention, but adding another closetful of fabric, oh my!
Love the wild prints, by the way.
Posted by: AuntyNin at May 12, 2006 04:05 PMSerendipity lives! Found your blog while searching for a skullcap pattern, which brought me to your archives. And lo, the lovely blue Cancer Hat you did knit March 9-16, 2004, is exactly what I seeketh. Do you remember what pattern you used, and could you direct me as to where I might find it? Any help much appreciated. And thanks for your inspiration. Cheers!
Posted by: megora at May 15, 2006 07:55 AMCool -- I've been away from the blog world, didn't realize you were quilting now. Have you been to City Quilter on 25th? I will have to check out the new place when I am in New York at the end of the month for work. Got a new blog now and a quilt top almost done. later.. .
