What I Don't Like

You know how sometimes the Transit Union goes on strike and makes your life really difficult?

You know how sometimes when that happens, after a long day of trying to work through it, helping lots of visitors from out of town determine how they will survive said transit strike, you just really need to get drunk for the first time in a while, and you figure you deserve it because tomorrow is your day off?

You know how you go out and drink lots and lots and then the cabbie tries to rip you and your friend off by charging $10 more for the second person to go six blocks further so you both get out at the first stop, and don't give him a tip then get to walk six blocks in the cold while you're drunk?

You know how you come home and pass out?

And how come it never fails that in such a situation, when you finally do wake up, there's a voice mail from work that someone called in sick and can you please please pretty please drag your sorry hung-over ass in to work as soon as possible?

That ranks very high on my list of "What I Don't Like."

Wish me luck...

OMG, I surfed in here, and I'm about to bust a gut on my way out. You are sooooooooo funny! Sadly, I totally understand where you are coming from. Have another drink, and have a GREAT day at work. Try not to think of transit strike.

Ick! I remember those days. I used to completely ignore the phone when that would happen. Luckily, it doesn't happen much to me anymore. Good luck at work!

That person probably wasn't even sick - just didn't want to deal with the strike. I wouldn't have returned the message until it was so late that they would have told you not to bother. But that's me. You're a better person. Keep warm. Happy Holidays!

Oh geez, I just caught up on my reading. I hope you had aspirin and a full-fleged Coke in a glass bottle. Or picked up a fountain Coke. **that's my hang-over remedy**
