Here's Something Cool

One thing that I have noticed is that a lot of you have commented that you wish you knew some of the techniques of all the crazy color knitting that I do.

Well, gues what: If you live in the NYC area, you're going to get a first hand opportunity to learn! The details aren't finalized yet or anything, and you'll be the first to know, but it looks like there's going to be a Fair Isle Hat class, taught by yours truly.

In the meantime, I've been practicing my own stranded knitting skills by knitting on Zauberflote. I got 5 or 6 rows done tonight (I can't remember where I started!), and so I'm finished with row 35 for the third repeat. Which means that there are only 43 rows to go 'til we get to the start of the armholes. I'm looking forward to that! Because, as you know, I'm an insane knitter and that means that I'm getting bored with simply knitting the pattern in a straight tube. It's a good pattern and all, but since it's a long jacket rather than a cropped cardi, well, there's a lot of knitting to do.

That said, I think I'm doing a really good job. I am keeping the tension even and most of the floats across the back look pretty good. I think that you'll see some picture in the next couple of days. I just didn't really feel like being photo-y this evening. So instead of getting pictures, you get to imagine being in my class! Unless you're not in NYC, in which case you get to feel sad that you won't get to be in it... sorry!

Darn Jon, I'd love to take your class. But with the helpful hints on your blog and email guidance you've given me, I feel like I should pay you for a correspondence course! Thanks for always being so generous with information and have fun with your class! Now get snappin' with more pictures of Z!! :)
