The Other Problem

So... Um... my room has no TV. And the radio doesn't work well. It gets three stations, one of which is NPR that I'm not in the mood for, and one of which is Polka. And the other doesn't have a good conncetion. So I'm trying the web-based radio stuff, but the station I found is one that plays "Boring" classical music. But I'm too lazy to go and find a "good" one.

At least I know I get to go to Artfibers on Saturday! Stay tuned for photos!

Oh, and by the way: Today started at 7:00am. It's 10:30pm and I'm still not done. I took a dinner break for about two hours but I have more work to do. Yay. No, really. Yay.

You know, you can find all of the BBC radio stations on the BBC website (that's a uk website). And you can listen to a lot of their shows again for a week after they were first broadcast. Just trying to ease your polka pain!

Same with CBC - www.cbc.ca/radio -- Radio 2 plays mainly Classical, but not "borign" (at least in my view!) stuff -- a fairly wide range. And it has jazz in the evenings, and other fun things. It's what I listen to at work.

Just FYI! But it sucks there's no tv -- that's about the only thing to do in a hotel room (by yourself).

Another station you might like to try is WMVY radio. The station is based on Martha's Vineyard, and has a really great mix of modern and 80's-90's rock and folk. I love to listen to it while doing housework. Soothing stuff, and every once in a while they toss in a song that makes me stop and think. Not to mention, it's kinda fun to hear the weather reports and small craft advisories for "the Vineyard."

a good radio station to try if you like classic rock/new alternative rock (aka Rolling Stones/Metallica/Audioslave) is wmmr.com, they also have a kickass morning show that starts 6am ET but they do have podcasting.

I can't wait to hear about Artfibers! I visited a few years ago and loved it.
