Uh Oh

So I bought an iPod.

And I got an email from Apple showing that it shipped via FedEx. And the email has a tracking number which, if I track via FedEx's site, shows that it's going to Indianapolis. Which would be fine, if I lived there. But I live in New York City.

Luckily, when I go through Apple's site and click on the shipping detail link it gives there, that shows a FedEx delivery expected on Wednesday in New York City.

So let's keep our fingers (or knitting needles) crossed.

In other, more chocolatey news, here is a really nice feature article on Peter Ostrum, who played Charlie in the 1971 movie which I could have sworn was called "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" but is apparantly called "Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory." Was I the only one who didn't know this? (The new one is called "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" though I'm kind of iffy on if it even should exist. I loved the original so much!)

hiya!

I've the same feelings about WW and the choc. factory (it is WW and not charlie, but I had to go look at the box). We have the original on DVD for my son and he loves it too! I was leary of a re-make, but i think J Depp might bring something to it -- it might not be better but it should be good (plus it's J depp and i've always had a thing for him, though I'm not sure if i want to DO him or BE him).

since i am the self proclaimed number one Wonka fan, i saw embrace the new film. there is a lot of the stuff that was left out of the original film in there, and it visually, i think it will be amazing.

You can't deny the Depp. No one is that strong.

I love the Wilder movie as well, but I think of this as less a remake than a retelling. It's more closely tied to the book and Dahl's vision of Wonka as not so much a loveable eccentric who actually secretly LIKED children, and it's not a musical (so no "Cheer Up, Charlie," an omission worth the $10.75 ticket price, I'd say). Plus that adorable guy from Waking Ned Devine plays Grandpa.

Em, currently suffering from iPod envy

I'm conflicted about this movie...it looks so...so...disturbing. I love the original...love it's music...this is going to be so different. Who knows? See...conflicted!!!
