I have gone to no less than three local drug stores, all of which used to have them, but no more. That's right, dear knit friends. The New York City Drug Stores (at least, the ones in my neck-o-the-woods) are out of Cadbury Creme Eggs. And it's not even Easter yet!
I guess I'll have to content myself with knitting.
Tonight I finished the fifth row of squares of the Indy Blankie. So it's almost 4 inches long now! Oddly, the squares are not square. They are wider than they are long. I should probably sue... But it's really OK, because I love how the blankie looks. It's already time to cut more pieces of yarn, though. Even though I knew that this project would be a massive undertaking, I'm already rather astonished by how much work it is shaping up to be. They better love it!
Posted by Jon at March 22, 2005 02:52 AMJon - I didn't even think of stockpiling cadbury eggs before easter! They'll be gone soon! Must... resist... running.... to CVS.... and buying... them all!
Posted by: TrickyTricot at March 22, 2005 08:08 AMOh no, this is serious. I've been buying them up recently after waiting too long last year...what is this NYC creme egg shortage?
Posted by: Diana at March 22, 2005 08:59 AMWow... I guess the Shenandoah Valley isn't a hotbed of cadbury creme egg eaters. I love 'em and so far *fingers crossed* I can find them at several stores.
Maybe we need to donate some creme eggs to the NYC area -- you have to have creme eggs for EASTER. Hmm... *goes to start a non-profit for creme egg-less americans*
Posted by: Mopsie at March 22, 2005 09:44 AMOH MY GOD, I would DIE!!! To me, spring isn't announced by the little robins hopping on the lawn, nor the crocus blooms poking their way through the soil, no, it's the arrival of the CADBURY EGGS....those things are my true addiction.....I feel for you. Please let us know if we need to stockpile them and send to NY from the midwest. Be strong.

Ah, a fellow knitter enamoured with Creme Eggs. If you need an emergency care-package sent your way, you just let me know. I can't stand the thought of anyone suffering from Creme Egg withdrawl.
