Do you read the "Metropolitan Diary" column in the Times? Check out today's edition. You'll have to register for it, but the penultimate item is a great story - for knitters, and for anyone else.
Enjoy!
Posted by Jon at February 7, 2005 01:42 AMWow. I've been having such a grey, dismal, annoyed, disassociated, spinsterish kind of a day today, and your link reminded me of what I should be looking for. Thank you so much!

Posted by: Cheryl at February 7, 2005 05:18 PMAfter reading the NYT piece, I am bewildered as to why the writer wasn't scared/angry that someone just grabbed his/her knitting and started working on it. As a New Yorker, someone grabbing my stuff out of my hands, however well meaning, is likely to result in a jab of a knitting needle.
Great photo of Angor Wat, Jon.
Posted by: Gary at February 7, 2005 07:40 PMI'm with Gary--I see that the woman said that her knitting was anemic, but someone grabbing a project out of my lap would make me go ballistic. Still, from her perspective it's a great l'il story.
And I love the Angkor Wat picture.
Posted by: Em at February 8, 2005 09:48 AMJon, I just ran across your blog today and am enjoying it a lot. You're an articulate wiseass. Finestkind. I read the NYTimes piece to my 9th grade students and we were all enchanted. Thanks!
