So Much for That

Wow, I posted an FO and noone even commented. I guess everyone was in a worse mood today than I thought!

Anyhow, I had a really shitty day. Pretty much the entire City appeared to be having a shitty day. People who usually say "Hi, how are you today?" such as the guy at the dry cleaner or my barista or whoever, knew better than to ask that question, because they already knew and didn't want to hear another person whine about it too. So that was my day, up til dinner time, when things improved. Risotto with white truffles which almost made up for everything that happened over the past day. Almost. And a very cute waiter; we flirted and that was fun. And then, opera, which is always a lovely way to spend an evening.

When I wake up, less than five hours from now, I will shower, throw a few more things into my suitcase, and head out to the airport, where I will board an airplane which will take me to an airport ridiculously named after our ridiciolous president's father. And I will then go to my 10 year college reunion.

See you Monday!

Dude, I need to know where you eat. That risotto sounds incredible.

The poncho is beautiful. I did see it yesterday but couldn't form any kind of coherent thought beyond, "oh, shit."

Enjoy your reunion!

I'm sorry, honey. I think the poncho is gorgeous!

I was just too busy being depressed, planning exile, and trying to figure out the next political move to comment on the darling poncho.

Oh, how low we have fallen!

I'll be better now.

Ditto for me. I was becoming more and more depressed by reading about everyone else's depression and despair. But today I'm marginally better (and clinging to the fact that I don't actually live in the States!), so I have enough energy to say: Fabulous poncho. Love the construction, and the colours. Enjoy your reunion!

oh yes, be glad you're not in Texas...it's bush-country for sure! Everyone (or nearly everyone) is gloating and rejoicing *sigh*

Too depressed to see the cute poncho. But it is cute!

Enjoy the reunion.

I was really upset on Wednesday, too. I live in Ohio, in a county that voted 50/50. So the Kerry voters where pretty sad and the Bush voters were happy... until the Bush lovers saw how pissed off the Kerry voters were which has made them back off. Sort of like, "Wow, you really are pissed off, aren't you. I'll shut up now." It will be interesting to see how the fact that 49% of the country is pissed off will pan out the next four years.

The poncho looks great!

Yup, my election-hangover is just starting to clear...head still hurting, can't imagine here we go for another 4 years and more supreme court justices to appoint...nope, can't go there. Thank God for knitting, it saved my sanity. I'm working in Bush-land. Myself and one other quiet one the sole little liberals in a sea of happy, gloating Bush-lovers....ick. Good excuse to get more yarn, work towards beauty, yeah that's it.

BTW, loved the poncho--especially the open weave look!
