I Knit Something!

But I didn't take a photo of it yet, and even if I had, I couldn't post it from this internet cafe... which is fine because it's really only about 6 or 7 rows of a really big sock. I started the first Black Purl sock, and they are for me, so it's a lot more than the 64 stitches most sock patterns seem to call for. I am starting with 88 stitches... I may decrease a couple times on the way down, but I want them to be comfortable. I totally pulled the number 88 out of nowhere (Well, I guesstimated based on how big my 64 stitch LL socks on US1's have been...) and I'm hoping they will work. The yarn is pretty, that much I can tell you truthfully.

Some stuff on the trip posted on the non-knit blog, at The Jon Blog but hopefully as I get to London and make it to some yarn shops, there will be more knitting content comin' at ya from England!

Hi , Which part of London R U ? Most yanks tend to only venture to the typical tourist spots .Well U R sadly right - LONDON is C R A P for yarn shops .
Something to do with it being the most expensive city to live / work in the EU & ranked seventh most in the entire world !

ONLY John Lewis & Liberty sell yarn or Peter Jones in Sloane Square .

There is shop called Infusion near Notting Hill tube whhich is listed on Rowan's website as a supplier of Rowan yarn.
Not one shop in London stocks Colinette .
I live in London - i cannot buy Colinette in London !
I have posted the more furthur afield shops ( the few ) via an email to Deb the Brit / Denver Jon but in my experience I have NEVEr heard of any yank daring to venture beyond the realms of Tourist-dom !
