So NYC submitted its final bid for the 2012 Olympics. You know what? There's no chance in hell we're getting the games. The country decided for itself when they reelected Bush.
The Europeans HATE Bush. Hate, hate, hate, almost as much as us blue-staters do. Maybe even more. So when you figure that these are a) the people we're up against for hosting the Games and b) the people who are, by and large, responsible for the decision making, well, you can be sure that we're not going to be winning that contest.
