Even Kids Get the Munchies

Have you heard about this?

The thing I wonder most is, in the second part of the article, it says the teachers "realized it was cocaine." How the fuck did they know? They recognized the taste? Are these really the people we want teaching our kindergarteners?

And on a totally unrelated note, did you notice this article in the Times on crossdressing? The features department seems to have out-done themselves once again...

Actually, if I had kids I would WANT his or her teachers to be able to recognize illegal drugs when they saw them. Knowledge is power, as they say. In this case, the teachers' knowledge prevented what could have been two terrible accidents.

And if it WAS my child bringing drugs into school, knowingly or not, I'd want to know so I could swiftly deal with the situation. And I'd probably send the teacher who recognized the coke or the weed a very nice thank you note.
